50% of our youth are underemployed and thereby stuck with jobs that restrain them from using their realizing their full potential. Assumptions and lack of insight about the potential of working in food and agribusiness leads our youth to not value or see opportunities to work within the sector.
During multiple youth conversations they expressed to lack the right network and resources to find a job that could kick-off their careers. At the same time agribusinesses are establishing and growing fast in Ghana, looking for new talents to join their team.
That is why we build this program. We see a great opportunity to link the dots and create positive change.
We do this through a 4 month
'pre-employment' program using a two stream approach:
We provide practical (soft) skill training that prepares youth for the workplace.
We connect our youth and reputable food and agribusinesses through paid internships.
FUTURE CHANGE MAKERS
This program uses a unique approach as it combines hands on (soft) skill training with practical experience. During the entire program youth learn from other young and talented CEO's, farmers, food entrepreneurs, business developers and each other.
After a 3 week full program, they get hands on experience through paid internships with these partnering food and agribusinesses.
This gives students possibilities, perspective and the opportunity to explore their interest and talent to start a career in the food and agriculture sector.
